Moon VR Experience

Moon VR Experience is a scientific and cinematic production that uses Virtual Reality (VR) to fully reconstruct the historic Apollo 11 mission through a highly documentary-driven experience. The project offers an overall view linking the launch phases to the lunar surface, offering a unified narrative between 20th-century history and space engineering. The story lets visitors relive the key moments of the endeavour, following in Neil Armstrong’s footsteps from lift-off to the famous Moon landing.

The challenge

Telling the story of one of humanity’s greatest challenges, going beyond the limits of traditional astronomical outreach. The project aims to combine historical rigour with visual power, accurately recreating the technology of the era and the scientific and historical impact of the landing.

The format

A multimedia experience in Location-Based Experience (LBE) format, made up of a single continuous 6-minute Virtual Reality piece. The experience’s deep philological rigour is enhanced by the use and integration of original NASA audio recordings, which place the audience right at the heart of the space mission.

The impact

Historical and archival accuracy: The combination of 3D digital reconstruction and original period audio recordings guarantees a total immersion that is unique and scientifically accurate.
Dynamic science outreach: Immersive technology makes the fascination of space exploration tangible, offering schools, scientists and enthusiasts an immediate tool for understanding.
Strategic museum integration: An agile format developed in strategic synergy with industry partners, ideal for enriching the cultural offering of planetariums and science centres.
